Weekend!

Even though I still have class on Friday, I view this as the beginning of the weekend. Kelsey is coming up and I can't wait.

This is a very brief post because I'm in class. One interesting thing to note: I got run over by a car yesterday. Or it ran over my foot. Awesome.

Let's give this a shot

Greetings!

I haven't tried to do something like this since middle school. However, in my American Studies class we are required to back up our Wiki projects and I figured this would be an interesting way to do that. We'll see how that goes.

I have been assigned Lexington, NC and my focus will be between 1890 and 1920. I am supposed to concentrate on dynamic forces that shaped Lexington during this time period such as geography, racial demographics, growth, architecture, transportation, and local economy. Since it's Lexington, I'm going to try to sneak food into the discussion.

I will publish a link when the project is done if anyone wants to take a look at it. We may be moving our work from the Wiki site onto a WordPress page but that is up to the discretion of our professor.

In more interesting news (unless you're Jack Garvey) this past week has been pretty interesting. We had our Spring 2010 recruitment period and got six new pledges. They will be pinned on Wednesday, although they do not know that. Wednesday will also be their first pledge education session with Chris Manning and me. We have big plans for them and they have a lot of potential. I'm very excited about teaching this class.

Our bid night cocktail went well and I had a fun time with Meg. We had sushi at Kanki, and I will definitely be going back for more soon. Speaking of that, Kelsey is coming up Thursday! I haven't seen her since winter break ended and that's been too long.

I had my first day at the Carwash in Garner and a super drunk guy almost ran some of us over.

Today is Australia Day I think. Cole is throwing a party/basketball viewing tonight so that should be fun. David is going on some weird meds that don't allow him to drink for a week so he's going on "one last hurrah" tonight. Should be real interesting.
